Writing 101

Contents

If you would like to write an article for one of our magazines, the pages below will help you get started.

Perhaps you've never written an article before. Don't let that scare you. It can be surprisingly easy, and the results are rewarding. By sharing your knowledge, you can make a valuable contribution to those who need your information to do their jobs safely. Whether your story becomes a long feature or simple tip, it may just save someone's life or an expensive piece of equipment.

The links below include hints about writing--how to convert your ideas and thoughts into a finished article. There are specific comments on the scope, style and needs of each magazine. On a separate link is a brief discussion on taking and submitting photographs.

If, after reading these guides, you still have questions, call us. We'll do our best to help you with your article. We are interested in your ideas. We constantly look for new material. Without your help, our coverage would be limited.

Our editors are primarily communicators, not necessarily experts in the diverse fields of safety and health, aviation, ashore and afloat. We need your help to identify topics, programs and problems that interest and concern our readers.
