Photo #227

One of our correspondents sent us this charming photo the other day. He had been working at removing World War II-era buildings. "The buildings have been modified over the years to agree with the current mission," he wrote. "Sometimes documented, sometimes not." Sometimes they called in the pros, and sometimes they didn't.

"And as you can tell from the picture, sometimes they were more concerned with getting the job done than meeting safety requirements," he concluded.

We heartily agree, and only wish we had a contest for "Most Spliced Wires in a Single Junction Box" to enter this one into.

Honestly, isn't there a point where you have to drop back and punt? Was there a local shortage of conduit and new wires? The term "rat's nest" definitely comes to mind. Also "blivet."
