If you’re ever tempted to do something similar, remember the saying, “What goes up, must come down.” In this case, it’s “What goes on, must come off.” And it may come off when you least expect it. Honestly, if you think you can restrain this mattress (or, for example, a piece of plywood)  when the wind catches it, you have no clue of the forces involved.
